System Description

The SAFERsleep System is a set of procedures and devices for organising the anaesthetic work area as well as SAFERsleep OR software which provides drug safety cross checks and produces a comprehensive anaesthetic patient record.

The SAFERsleep OR software is installed on a workstation which consists of a touch screen computer, barcode reader and keyboard attached via a mounting arm to the anaesthetic machine. The position of the SAFERsleep workstation enables the anaesthetist to easily enter data as part of their practice.

The patient’s physiological data is downloaded directly from anaesthetic monitor data into the software. The anaesthetist enters other information about the patient’s management using templates, barcodes, touch screen and keyboard. This data is collated into a time-related, accurate patient record.

The SAFERsleep System can be installed and supported by hospital IS departments, alternatively Safer Sleep can provide a service where the database and servers are housed in a secure offsite datacentre and linked to the operating room workstations via a secure internet connection.

The Company is compliant with health regulatory and patient data security standards. Site installation is facilitated with project management, master databases and procedure templates making it easier for the hospital to prepare for and implement the SAFERsleep System.
