Patient Record
The patient record is collated via the SAFERsleep OR software. The workstation is positioned ergonomically on the anesthetic machine in each operating room. It is connected to the operating room anesthetic monitors and automatically downloads data during the anesthetic into the patient record. Data is also input via touch-screen and barcode user interfaces.

Easily Usable
The SAFERsleep System is easy to learn and easy to use. By design, the system does not require computer literacy. Safer Sleep provides extensive on-site preparation and coaching, easing the transition from paper recording. Users are free to enter data as they choose: touch screen, barcode, function key or standard keyboard/ mouse.
Customizable
User input options, such as drug and anesthetic event parameters, can be managed by the facility to reflect current practice and drug formulary. The SAFERsleep System can be customized to produce patient records in existing facility formats.
Automated Record
The SAFERsleep System automates the creation of a robust, comprehensive and legible patient record. Automated charting of monitor data is the foundation of the system’s recording capability. The record utilizes a large chart graph to display monitor data, automatically annotated with time-related drug, fluid and event information.
User-specific Templates
The system enables user-specific templates to assist with quick and accurate entry of recurring data – even short procedures can have complete, high-quality anesthetic records.
Information Integration
The SAFERsleep System provides a complete suite of information tools for the peri-operative environment. The system is adaptable and customizable to meet each facility’s needs.
Safer Sleep manages the integration process, ensuring seamless data interchange between Safer Sleep and facility information systems. Information exchanged includes: patient demographics, procedure information, medical alerts and electronic record-ready reports.
Data Security
Data security and data integrity are cornerstones of the SAFERsleep architecture. In compliance with HIPAA guidelines a user name and password must be validated before patient information can be accessed.
Anesthesia Data
The SAFERsleep System provides a centralized repository of all anesthetic records. This database is fully searchable; records can be accessed from any SAFERsleep system installation. In addition, aggregative studies can be generated from the central anesthetic record repository.
